City Intensifies Coordination to Prevent Coronavirus Spread

Jakarta Health Department coordinates with Health Ministry and Port Health Office (KKP) to conduct integrated monitoring related to the prevention of coronavirus spread.

Jakarta Health Department Head, Widyastuti stated, coronavirus becomes a global epidemic and has a potential to give impact nationally. Thus it needs coordination between institutions.

She explained, Public Health Emergency Operating Center (PHEOC) system monitors all potential infectious diseases outbreaks for 24 hours, including novel coronavirus.

"We must raise our awareness. In this case, we cooperate with team from KKP as the guard at the arrival gates from incoming entrants from abroad, both in Soekarno Hatta Airport and Tanjung Priok Harbor," she conveyed.

According to her, team from KKP has prepared things as an effort to prevent coronavirus from entering Indonesia. Such as providing scanner and experts in ports.

"KKP team will contact us immediately when they find person who is suspected of carrying the virus thus we can investigate it," she stated.
